LONG TERM STORAGE OF PUMPS & MOTORS
Instruction for Long Term Storage of Pumps & Motors
When storing Hydraulic Pumps & Motors for long periods the internal components suffer from Brinelling. Brinelling occurs when two hardened surfaces have insufficient lubrication between them and no motion for extended periods, the Brinelling introduces corrosion and breakdown of the hardened surface.
Rotate Pump and/or Motor shaft every 60 days this will keep internal components from developing flat spot and or corrosion while keeping mechanical seals from sticking. Ensure pump and or motor is completely sealed using correct plugs/plates. Fill pump and or motor with mineral oil containing 2-3% rust preventive concentrate.
